Norway’s Espen Jorstad ended Day 2 with a commanding stack of 4,785,000, more than double that of his closest rival. He will return to the final day as the clear favorite, looking to add another major title to his résumé.
Chasing him are David Coleman of the United States with 2,365,000, Germany’s Leon Sturm with 1,430,000, Latvian high-stakes regular Aleksejs Ponakovs with 1,280,000, and another American, Jesse Lonis, on 1,130,000. Thailand’s Punnat Punsri will be the short stack, bringing back 760,000.
Day 2 Highlights
Defending champion Kayhan Mokri fell just short of a historic third straight victory. His deep run ended after clashing with Jorstad in a decisive hand. Mokri flopped trips, but Jorstad improved to a full house on the turn and sent his countryman to the rail just outside the payouts.
Not long after, Bryn Kenney exited in ninth place, followed by Austria’s Thomas Muehloecker in eighth, both missing out on a return. The bubble finally burst when Germany’s Samuel Müller was eliminated in seventh by Coleman, securing a guaranteed payday for the final six.
