Florida pro banks $124,525 and first PGT title after heads-up ICM deal with Jesse Lonis
LAS VEGAS — Filipp Kavin flew in on a red-eye with almost no sleep, but the Florida native still found a way to close out the 2026 PokerGO Cup $5,000 Single Day event, collecting $124,525 and his first PGT title in the process.
Kavin and Jesse Lonis struck an ICM deal at the start of heads-up play. Lonis, one of the hottest names in high-stakes poker, took home $105,800 for second. The win pushes Kavin's lifetime live earnings past the $2.5 million mark, a career-best score by any measure.
111 Entries, $555,000 Prize Pool
The first of three $5,000 Single Day events on the schedule drew 111 runners and built a $555,000 prize pool. PokerGO regulars Sean Winter and owner Cary Katz were among the field, as was veteran pro Tony Gregg, making his first appearance at the PokerGO Studio.
Mixed game author Dylan Linde was the first to fall at the final table, taking seventh for $22,200. Pro racing driver Drake Kemper made a deep run to finish third for $63,825. Nicholas Seward, fresh off winning the WPT Venetian Spring Poker Championship, bowed out in sixth for $27,750. David Kim collected $49,950 in fourth, while Jon-Michael Gisler earned $36,075 in fifth before Kavin closed things out against Lonis.
