Poker Dream 21 Brings MYR 5M Guaranteed Main Event to Genting Highlands This April

KUALA LUMPUR — Poker Dream is heading back to Malaysia. Poker Dream 21 runs April 9-20 at Resorts World Genting Highlands, anchored by a MYR 5,000,000 (~$1.25 million) guaranteed Main Event.

The 12-day festival returns to Genting, a hillside resort just outside Kuala Lumpur that has become a key poker destination in Southeast Asia.

Main Event

The Main Event buy-in starts at MYR 3,200 ($800), with higher-priced Day 1 flights available at MYR 4,800 ($1,200). Players can enter through regular, turbo, hyper-turbo, or flipout starting flights before survivors converge on Day 2 on April 19. The final day plays out April 20 with the full MYR 5 million guarantee on the line.

More Than 50 Events Across 12 Days

The high roller slate gets going early. The MYR 12,000 ($3,000) High Roller kicks off April 14 with a MYR 300,000 guarantee, followed by the MYR 20,000 ($5,000) Super High Roller on April 16, which is backed by MYR 500,000. A MYR 10,000 (~$2,500) Mystery Bounty High Roller rounds out the premium offerings on April 19 with another MYR 300,000 guarantee.

Mystery bounty formats run throughout the series. The Mystery Big Bounty and Mystery Bounty Deepstack both carry MYR 2,100 ($525) buy-ins and MYR 400,000 ($100,000) guarantees, while a MYR 2,700 (~$675) Monster Stack is also included on the schedule.

Mixed game players will find several options on the schedule, including Seven-Card Stud, Limit 2-7 Triple Draw, NL 2-7 Single Draw, and Limit Triple Draw Lowball Mix. The lineup also includes a Heads-Up event capped at 32 players, a Senior Event open to players 50 and older, and a Ladies Event. The series closes on the night of April 20 with an ALL-IN or FOLD event at MYR 1,000.

Cash games are expected to run throughout the festival.

Early Bird Perks

Players who pre-register for the Main Event can get hotel discounts at several Resorts World Genting properties, including First World Hotel, Resort Hotel, and Highlands Hotel. The rate depends on which flight they enter: MYR 4,800 registrants get 25% off, while MYR 3,200 registrants get 20% off.

The first 100 players to sign up for the Main Event also receive bubble protection across all Day 1 flights, plus a seat in a lucky draw for $1,000 in Poker Dream tournament credits.

A separate First Weekend Special Deal is available for players who pre-register for two eligible tournaments from a list that includes the Malaysia Open, Mystery Big Bounty, Mystery Bounty Deepstack, and Mystery Bounty. Discounted accommodation rates of up to 25% apply, and the first 50 players to complete registration lock in bubble protection for those tournaments.

On-Time Rewards for High Roller Players

High roller registrants can earn bonus tournament credits just for showing up on time. Players in the MYR 12,000 High Roller are eligible for MYR 480 ($120) in credits, while those in the MYR 10,000 Mystery Bounty High Roller can collect MYR 400 ($100). Additional packages are available for players who enter multiple high roller events.
