Henderson, Nevada will once again have a full-time poker room as Station Casinos announced the return of the Green Valley Ranch poker room, which has remained closed since 2020. The reopening, planned for late 2025, marks a notable addition for local players who have been without a large-scale card room for about five years.
A Comeback After Pandemic Closure
The Green Valley Ranch poker room was shut down during COVID-19 restrictions and later replaced by a smoke-free slot area. For years, no plans to bring poker back were mentioned, but Station Casinos confirmed that guest demand has driven its return. Henderson’s players, who previously had to drive to the Strip or rely on small-scale options, will now have access to a 24/7 poker venue in their community.
Expanded Poker Facilities
When it reopens, the new poker room will feature 16 tables—nearly doubling its pre-pandemic size. It will become the only round-the-clock poker room in Henderson, contrasting with Skyline Casino’s smaller two-table operation with limited hours. The expanded facility will cater mostly to low-stakes players, consistent with its previous reputation as a locals-friendly card room.
Part of a $200 Million Renovation
The return of poker is included in a $200 million property renovation at Green Valley Ranch. The upgrades aim to elevate the resort experience in Henderson, delivering amenities comparable to Strip resorts while maintaining a neighborhood focus. The poker room reopening is one of the standout features of this remodeling phase.
Las Vegas Poker Market Outlook
The local poker scene has experienced a steady recovery since pandemic-era shutdowns, though several well-known rooms never reopened, including Harrah’s, The Strat, and Mirage (casino no longer in operation). Across Las Vegas, there are currently 20 active poker rooms. Once Green Valley Ranch begins operations, the total will increase to 21.
Station Casinos already runs poker rooms at Boulder Station and Red Rock Resort, with Green Valley Ranch set to strengthen its presence in another suburban market. For Henderson players, the return addresses a key gap and restores what was once one of the area’s most popular poker destinations.
