MSPT Season 16 Finale Set for Running Aces with 18 Gold Card Events

The Major Series of Poker: The Tour (MSPT) is closing out Season 16 at Running Aces Casino in Minnesota, just outside the Twin Cities. From December 2 to 14, the Winter Poker Classic will feature 18 Gold Card events and serve as the final chance for players to collect Player of the Year points.

Two-time defending POY Umut Ozturk leads the race once again, looking to complete a rare three-peat. But it’s far from over—Jake Long and Josh Reichard are right behind him, and the race could go down to the wire at this final stop.

The spotlight event is the $1,110 Main Event with a $500,000 guarantee. It kicks off early in the festival to avoid overlapping with WSOP Paradise and the WPT World Championship. Day 1A runs on Thursday, December 4 at 2 p.m. CT, followed by Day 1B on Friday, and Day 1C on Saturday at noon. Everyone who bags chips will return Sunday, December 7 at 11 a.m. to play down to a winner.

Side events will keep the action steady throughout the series. Highlights include the $300 Pot-Limit Omaha Monster Stack, $300 Epic Stack NLH, and $400 Mini Main Event—all offering POY points. There’s also a fun $400 Tag Team Kickoff on December 2 and the $200 Ladies Monster Stack NLH on December 7.

With 18 events, a half-million guaranteed Main Event, and a tight POY race coming to a head, Running Aces is shaping up for a fitting finale to MSPT Season 16. Every hand, every pot, and every point will matter as the season’s story reaches its last chapter.
