Stephen Hubbard Controls Texas PLO Roundup Main Event for $215,000

Texas PLO Roundup Main Event chips at Champions Club Texas after $215K win

Hubbard Sets the Pace in Houston

The 2025 PokerGo Tour Texas PLO Roundup wrapped up at Champions Club Texas with a Main Event that belonged largely to Stephen Hubbard. He came into the final day already near the top of the counts, and once cards went in the air, he rarely surrendered the momentum. As the table shortened, Hubbard kept absorbing pots and handled five of the last six eliminations, a stretch that gradually turned his stack into the one everyone else had to chase.

When the field finally condensed to heads up, Hubbard faced Philip Shing with a wide chip advantage of 11 to 1. On the last hand, Shing made a move on the river, and Hubbard picked it off to close out the tournament for the $215,000 first prize. The win also added 215 PGT points to his tally and rounded out a strong week that had already included a victory in the $5,100 Single Day High Roller.

Final Table Payouts

Every seat at the final table was filled by a United States competitor. Shing finished second and earned $155,000. David Shaw followed in third for $100,000. Chris Costa claimed fourth and $65,000. Fifth place went to Vito Qingyu Lu for $50,000, while Joe Firova took sixth for $40,000. The table wrapped with Sterling Savill in seventh, collecting $30,000.

Side Events Deliver Strong Results

Across the full schedule, the series produced 15 event winners. Among them was Bryce Yockey, who added to his résumé by winning PLO High Roller #3 for $45,500, continuing a strong run in PGT PLO events and scoring his fifth career PGT title. Another standout came from Brevin Andreadis, whose win in the $5,100 High Roller for $38,500 marked his first major PGT triumph.
