New Orleans, famous for its jazz, cuisine, and vibrant culture, will soon add high-stakes poker to the mix. From Sept.25 through Oct.5, Caesars New Orleans will host the RunGood Poker Series (RGPS) Grand Prix, a 17-event festival highlighted by an $800 Main Event carrying a $200K guarantee.
A Strong Opening
The series begins Sept.25 at 6 p.m. with the $400 Series Kickoff Ring Event. With a $100K guarantee and five starting flights spread across three days, the opener promises to set the tone for an action-packed schedule. Survivors from Day 1 will return Sept.28 to compete for the first ring of the series.
Broad Appeal Across the Schedule
The festival has been crafted to cater to every segment of the poker community. Seniors aged 50 and above will have their own spotlight Sept.29 with a $250 No-Limit Hold’em event, while women players can compete for a ring in the $300 Ladies Event Oct.3. Bounty formats also feature prominently, with the $250 Double Green Chip Bounty Oct.1 and the $400 Black Chip Bounty appearing twice, Sept.28 and Oct.5.
Diversity continues with specialty formats such as the $200 Tag Team event (Sept.29), the $400 Pot-Limit Omaha (Oct.3), and the escalating “Fat Stack” series that increases in buy-in and prize pool potential.
Spotlight on the $800 Main Event
The headline attraction is the $800 Main Event, launching Oct.3 with Day 1a at 6 p.m. Players have two more opportunities to enter Oct.4 with flights at 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. All survivors return for Day 2 Oct.5, when the $200K guaranteed prize pool will be played down to a champion.
Closing Day Drama
Oct.5 promises to be one of the busiest days of the series. Alongside Day 2 of the Main Event, players can still chase hardware in the $400 Black Chip Bounty at 1 p.m. or finish their festival with the fast-paced $200 Series Sendoff Turbo at 5 p.m.
