Triton ONE Genesis Sets the Pace in Jeju
The inaugural Triton ONE festival got off to a flying start on Jeju Island, South Korea, as the $3,000 Triton ONE Genesis, sponsored by QQPK, amassed 1,185 entries across four starting flights. The turnout generated a $3.2 million prize pool and a packed Day 2, with players returning at noon local time to play down to a champion.
A vibrant mix of regional talent, Triton regulars, and high-profile pros have descended on Jeju, including Steve O’Dwyer, Nacho Barbero, Stephen Song, Ladies Event end-boss Shiina Okamoto, Jessica Vierling, and Xuan Liu — who earlier this year became the first female champion in Triton history.

Opening Ceremony Signals a New Chapter
Before cards were in the air on Wednesday, Sept. 3, Triton staged an introduction ceremony outside the entrance of Landing Casino to unveil the new series. Triton Chief Operating Officer Cathy Zhao framed the ambition of Triton ONE as “where rising stars come to the stage, to the spotlight, and to dream even bigger.”
“Triton ONE is more than a tournament,” said Zhao. “It is a bridge to our new champions (and for) more stories to be created.”
Five Triton figureheads were then revealed as digital playing cards. Zhao was presented as “The Conductor,” CEO Andy Wong as “The Architect,” and Tournament Director Luca Vivaldi as “The Game Master.” With Triton ambassador Danny Tang stepping in for the absent Wong, the principals took up scissors and cut a ceremonial gold ribbon to officially launch the festival. Players were invited to step before a high-tech screen to be scanned and transformed into their own custom digital cards.
Doyle Kwan Fu Lee Lifts First Triton ONE Trophy
Hong Kong’s Doyle Kwan Fu Lee became the first champion crowned at a Triton ONE stop, outlasting Russia’s Anatoly Filatov heads-up in the $5,000 One Night No-Limit Hold’em (8-Handed) event to earn $67,000 and the debut title. The win marked Lee’s first Triton cash and first Triton title, emerging from a 48-entry field that also featured regulars such as Justin Saliba — who finished fourth for $675,000 in a $25,000 event at March’s Triton Poker Super High Roller Series in Jeju.
Thailand’s Nopparut Piyatass (3rd), Malaysia’s Lim Chin Wei (4th), and Taiwan’s Meng-Ling Lin (5th) were among those reaching the final table on a brisk one-day schedule.
