Hand 1: “I’m gonna put my phone down”

Early in the episode, Dan “Jungleman” Cates was preoccupied with his phone—he said he was trying to book a flight—when Alex opened the hijack to $200 with 10♦7♣. Cates three-bet to $800 next to act holding 9♠9♣, and Randy “3Coin” Sadler flatted from the big blind with 8♦8♥. Alex called to make it three to a flop of Q♣8♣10♥.

3Coin led $300, Alex called, and Cates bumped it to $3,000. 3Coin snap-clicked it back to $9,000, Alex quickly got out of the way, and Cates said, “I’m gonna put my phone down.”

He tanked, ran through 3Coin’s likely value range, and finally released his hand, admitting, “What am I doing? I feel like a fish right now,” before folding. 3Coin showed middle set and offered a fist bump for good measure.

Hand 2: Hellmuth Flops the Joint

With a $100 straddle on, Phil Hellmuth limped the hijack with A♦J♦ and 3Coin raised the button to $300 with A♠10♦. From the straddle, Alex three-bet to $1,200 with K♥8♥; Hellmuth and 3Coin both called.

The dealer spread 2♦3♦Q♦, giving Hellmuth the nut flush. Alex continued for $1,400, Hellmuth just called, and 3Coin came along. The turn brought the 10♥; Alex checked, Hellmuth took a contemplative beat and checked, and 3Coin checked behind.

The river fell the 3♣. After Alex checked a third time, Hellmuth fired $3,700. 3Coin called it the “perfect pro’s bet” and accidentally exposed his hand, not realizing another player remained. He folded once he noticed; Alex followed suit, and Hellmuth dragged the pot.

Hand 3: Aces Cracked for a $34,525 Pot

Alex kicked off the next key clash by raising the hijack to $200 with 5♣4♠. Cates three-bet the cutoff to $800 with K♦Q♥, and Nevada found A♦A♣ in the big blind and just called, enticing Alex to come along for another $600.

They saw a flop of 5♠4♦Q♠. It checked to Cates, who checked back with top pair. The 7♠ on the turn completed the front-door spade draw; Nevada checked again, and Alex bet $1,000 with two pair and the lone spade. Both opponents called.

The river paired the board with the 5♦. Nevada checked a third time, Alex value-bet $1,000 into two, and Cates raised to $6,000. Nevada quickly folded his overpair. Alex then moved all in for $14,525 total; Cates called the extra $8,525 and saw the bad news. Alex’s rivered full house earned him a $34,525 pot.

Hand 4: “You just got trapped by Hellmuth”

Action folded to Cates on the button and he raised to $150 with 5♦3♣. Hellmuth defended the small blind with 9♣7♣, and Xuan Liu called from the big blind with 10♦6♣.

All three checked the Q♥9♠8♦ flop. The turn was the 7♠, giving Hellmuth two pair and Xuan a straight. Hellmuth led $400, Xuan just called, and Cates bowed out. The river paired the board with the 7♦, filling Hellmuth up. He bet $500; Xuan raised to $3,000; and Hellmuth three-bet to $8,000.

“You just got trapped by Hellmuth,” Cates quipped.

“You can get away with murder in this spot,” Xuan said to Hellmuth. After a pause, she let it go. “Did you river me?” she asked. Hellmuth confirmed he had, and the chips moved his way.
