Tournament Highlights
Deeb clinched the title after hitting a lucky ace when his tournament life was on the line during heads-up play against Iago Savino. This victory marked Deeb’s second bracelet of the year; earlier, he won the $100,000 Pot-Limit Omaha event at the 2025 WSOP in Las Vegas for a career-best $2,957,229. The victory also gave Deeb redemption against Zdenek Zizka, who had defeated Deeb in heads-up play during the July $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em event.
Elite Company
With eight bracelets, Deeb is tied for seventh place all-time and just one behind Poker Hall of Famer Johnny Moss. Only Phil Hellmuth (17), Erik Seidel (11), Phil Ivey (11), Doyle Brunson (10), and Johnny Chan (10) have more bracelets. Deeb joins Michael Mizrachi and Benny Glaser in the exclusive eight-bracelet club.
Career and Legacy
Shaun Deeb has accumulated over $17 million in live tournament earnings. Despite some controversy over this year’s Player of the Year award, Deeb has enjoyed a banner season at the WSOP that has stretched across the globe, from Las Vegas to Europe. At 39 years old, Deeb is widely expected to be inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame within a year or two after he becomes eligible at age 40.
