From $50K to $100K – or Bust
Doug Polk is firing up a new online poker challenge, and this one might be his boldest yet. Starting Monday, the three-time WSOP bracelet winner will try to turn $50,000 into $100,000 on ClubWPT Gold, the World Poker Tour’s new sweeps site he represents as an ambassador.
Polk isn’t keeping things simple either. While no-limit hold’em has always been his bread and butter, this time he’s throwing pot-limit Omaha into the mix for extra spice. He’s vowed to keep playing until his bankroll either hits six figures or drops to zero.
Streaming It All Live
The action kicks off at 9 a.m. CT every day on Polk’s YouTube channel, where fans can watch every session in real time. Some streams might run just a couple of hours, others could stretch for half the day — depending on how the cards fall.
To keep things fun, Polk will also hand out free chips to viewers throughout the challenge. He plans to battle mostly at the $10/$20 cash game tables, splitting time between NLH and PLO.
Promoting ClubWPT Gold’s Canada Launch
This latest stunt is part of Polk’s ongoing partnership with ClubWPT Gold, which officially launches in Canada this week and is rolling out PLO games for the first time. Polk’s challenge doubles as a way to spotlight the new platform and get players hyped about the site’s expanded lineup.
It’s not the first time he’s taken on a “Code Doug” challenge for ClubWPT Gold. Most ended in the red, and even the one he technically “won” wasn’t profitable after all was said and done — but that’s never stopped him from coming back for more.
A Familiar Face Back in the Arena
Polk teased the new challenge in a recent YouTube video where he broke down Nik Airball’s $750,000 loss on Hustler Casino Live. Now, he’s stepping back into the ring himself.
For longtime fans, it’s a throwback to his iconic $1.2 million heads-up victory over Daniel Negreanu about five years ago — a battle that cemented his place as one of poker’s sharpest minds.
Whether Polk runs it up or flames out, one thing’s for sure: the poker world will be tuning in to watch every big bluff, cooler, and comeback along the way.
