The Asian Poker Tour closed APT Taipei 2026 on May 3 in Taiwan with another record-setting festival. The series finished with 26,009 total tournament entries, 3,890 unique entries and more than TWD 598,932,533, about USD 19,135,225, paid out across prize pools.
The figures extended APT’s run to seven consecutive record-breaking festivals for both total entries and unique entries. On the final day, Huang Chi Hsuan won the Labour Day Monster Stack, Yunghan Chien took the Micro Main Event, and Christopher Mateo captured the Ultra Stack for his ninth APT title.
Huang Chi Hsuan Wins Labour Day Monster Stack
Taiwan’s Huang Chi Hsuan topped a 2,135-entry field in Event #171: Labour Day Monster Stack. The TWD 3,500 tournament generated a TWD 6,000,000, about USD 191,693, prize pool and had 109 players return for the Final Day.
After play reached the final three, Huang, Japan’s Momoi Kazusa and Taiwan’s Wu Yung-Kuei agreed to an ICM deal. The players left TWD 65,200, about USD 2,083, and the title to play for.
Huang went on to secure his first APT title and first recorded cash, earning TWD 692,000, about USD 22,108. Momoi finished second for TWD 471,200, about USD 15,054, recording his first career cash. Wu placed third for TWD 632,300, about USD 20,201, for his first APT cash.

Yunghan Chien Takes the Micro Main Event
Event #159: Micro Main Event surpassed its TWD 2,000,000 guarantee, drawing 370 entries and building a TWD 4,526,400, about USD 144,600, prize pool. The one-day event paid 63 players.
Taiwan’s Yunghan Chien won the event for TWD 874,100, or USD 27,927. The victory more than doubled his lifetime tournament earnings.
Japan’s Seiru Nomura finished runner-up for TWD 552,200, or USD 17,642, recording his first career cash. South Korea’s Sung Sik Eum placed third for TWD 396,100, or USD 12,655, marking his first recorded result in Asia.

Christopher Mateo Adds Ninth APT Title in Ultra Stack
Christopher Mateo of the Philippines added another title to his APT Taipei 2026 series by winning Event #146: Ultra Stack. The result gave him his ninth APT title overall and his second title of the festival.
The Ultra Stack drew 732 entries and generated a TWD 12,912,480, about USD 412,539, prize pool. A total of 103 players returned for the Final Day with at least TWD 34,000, about USD 1,086, already secured.
The event also offered a seat into the APT Championship 2026 Main Event. Mateo earned TWD 2,388,180, or USD 76,299, and secured the seat with the win. His Taipei results also included a victory in Event #58: High Roller Mystery Bounty Single Day and one other cash.
India’s Amit Kaushik finished second for TWD 1,460,300, or USD 46,654. The payout moved him past USD 1 million in live tournament earnings. Japan’s Ryo Matsuoka placed third for TWD 1,043,200, or USD 33,328, a score described as nearly ten times his previous lifetime earnings.
