Aleksejs Ponakovs secured his third career PGT title by winning Event #5 of the 2026 PGT Summer Series at the PokerGO Studio.

The tournament drew 18 entries, with Ponakovs taking the top prize of $116,855 and earning 93 PGT points. His latest result adds to an already successful summer at the PokerGO Studio, following his fourth-place finish in Event #2 of the same series, where he earned $49,500.

Event #5 was decided after Ponakovs and Klemens Roiter reached a heads-up chop. Roiter finished second and collected $109,945, while Emilien Pitavy placed third for $43,200.

Through the first five events of the 10-event 2026 PGT Summer Series, a total of $1,245,000 in prize money has been awarded. The winners so far are Galen Hall, Adrian Mateos, Sam Soverel, Scott Pharr, and Ponakovs.

The series will resume from July 4 to July 8 with the final five $15,700 No-Limit Hold’em tournaments. Each event is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. Las Vegas time at the PokerGO Studio. Players who register on time can receive a $600 rake discount.
