Tournament poker in Texas continues to surge, and Champions Club is adding fuel to the fire this February. The Houston card room has unveiled the schedule for its Winter Poker Open, a festival running from Feb. 4–17 that features over $1 million in guaranteed prize pools. The schedule features 18 numbered events and concludes with a Tournament of Champions.
While the series offers plenty of variety, all eyes will be on the marquee $1,100 Main Event, which headlines the festival with a $500,000 guarantee.
The Main Event
The flagship tournament (Event #11) kicks off midway through the series, giving players six chances to find a bag for Day 2. Action begins Feb. 12 at 11 a.m. with Day 1A. The intensity ramps up on Feb. 13 and Feb. 14, featuring two starting flights each day scheduled for 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.
For players looking to dodge the long grind of a standard flight, a Turbo Day 1F is scheduled for 8 a.m. on Feb. 15. Survivors from all starting sessions will reconvene that same afternoon at 3 p.m. for Day 2, playing down to a winner on Feb. 16.
Big Value in Opening Events
Champions Club isn’t making players wait for the big payouts. The series opens Feb. 4 with Event #1, a $400 buy-in Monster Stack No-Limit Hold’em tournament carrying a six-figure guarantee of $100,000.
One of the most unique value propositions on the schedule is Event #6. This $300 buy-in Multi-Flight/Multi-Bag tournament features a massive $200,000 guarantee. With eight starting flights spread between Feb. 6–8, the format rewards volume and persistence before Day 2 resumes on Feb. 9.
PLO and Mixed Games
The Winter Poker Open schedule caters to players beyond standard No-Limit Hold’em. Pot-Limit Omaha specialists have a major target in Event #7, the $1,100 PLO Championship, starting Feb. 9 with a $150,000 guarantee.

High Rollers and Closing Events
A $2,500 High Roller (Event #14) is set for Feb. 15.
Community-focused events on Feb. 15 include:
- 2 p.m.: Event #13 Ladies Event, $200 buy-in ($10,000 GTD)
- 7 p.m.: Event #15 Tag Team, $150 buy-in per player ($300 per team)
The series concludes on Feb. 17 at 4 p.m. with the Tournament of Champions, featuring a $10,000 guarantee.
