The Japan Open Poker Tour (JOPT), an official partner of the Asian Poker Tour (APT), has introduced a new way for players to pursue live tournament opportunities through its recently launched JOPT Games platform.

The mobile poker app officially launched on June 17 and allows players to compete in online tournaments directly from their smartphones. Alongside regular gameplay, the platform offers qualification routes connected to major live events, including APT Incheon 2026, which runs from August 7-16, as well as World Series of Poker (WSOP) opportunities.

Players can compete in No Limit Hold’em, Pot Limit Omaha, and 6+ ring games. The platform also features free-entry satellite pathways, where players can progress through multiple qualification stages by earning tickets at each level.

According to the announcement, JOPT Games is designed to provide Japanese players with an online gateway to discover APT more easily, feel more connected to APT events, and take their first step toward major live poker events around the world.

JOPT CEO Tsubasa Kamei said the launch further strengthens JOPT’s partnership with APT and creates more accessible pathways for Japanese players to challenge themselves on the international stage.

APT to Participate in JOPT 2026 Tokyo

APT will also have a presence at JOPT 2026 Tokyo, which takes place from July 16-20 at Belle Salle Takadanobaba in Tokyo's Shinjuku City.

Players who visit the APT booth during the festival will receive an APT patch. Those who register for APT membership at the booth will also receive a complimentary pack of APT-branded playing cards.

In addition, players who sign up for APT membership during the festival will be entered into a lucky draw for APT merchandise.

Tournament Schedule Includes APT-Sponsored Events

JOPT 2026 Tokyo will feature a full schedule of tournaments across several poker formats, including No Limit Hold’em, Pot Limit Omaha, and mixed games.

The festival's Main Event carries a buy-in of JPY120,000, approximately USD750. Across the series, buy-ins range from JPY10,000, approximately USD60, to JPY500,000, approximately USD3,000.

According to the announcement, prizes awarded during the festival are issued as player contracts, which are essentially tournament credits. These can be used in domestic Japan-based tournaments and many international tournaments, including APT and WSOP events.

Two APT-sponsored tournaments on the schedule will offer additional rewards. Event #41, NLH Platinum Sponsored by APT, features a JPY500,000 buy-in, while Event #58, NLH Crown Sponsored by APT, carries a JPY300,000 buy-in.

Players in those events can also win APT tournament vouchers valued between USD500 and USD1,500 in addition to other prizes available within the tournaments. The winners of both events will also receive the new APT Challenge Trophy.
