Shi Rong Wang won the first Titan Stack Daily of Gods of Poker The Trial of Wisdom, topping an 88-entry field in the NT$5,500 event at Asia Poker Arena. The tournament carried an NT$777,000 guarantee and was one of seven events played on the festival's opening day.
The Trial of Wisdom runs from September 18 to 27, 2026, with 77 tournaments scheduled in cooperation with the Chinese Texas Hold'em Poker Association (CTP Club). It marks the second Gods of Poker stop in Taiwan in 2026.
Wang Wins the Titan Stack Daily
Registration ended with 73 players still in contention and an average stack of nearly 43 big blinds under the adjusted Cronus structure.
Ling Jie Lin was eliminated on the bubble before Leh Hua Wei scored a double knockout to become the second player with more than one million chips.
Wang then won an all-in against Ting Hsu Hsieh, who had just changed tables and moved all-in with pocket aces. Wang called with pocket tens and made a set when the 10♥ arrived on the river.
Seven Taiwanese players reached the final table.
Yu Heng Zhen entered as the chip leader and scored a triple knockout early at the final table. Zhen held Q♠Q♦ against Po Yi Liu's 9♦9♥ and Jaewon Kim's A♠A♣, while short-stacked Ka Ho Leung was also all-in with 10♠4♣. The K♦Q♥3♦ flop gave Zhen a set, and the 10♥2♥ runout eliminated all three opponents.
In a later clash between the two biggest stacks, Leh Hua Wei called Zhen's big check-raise on a king-high turn. Wei's A♥Q♣ eventually made Broadway to beat Zhen's top set of kings.
Zhen later finished fifth after his A♦4♣ lost to Po Cheng Lai's K♠8♣.
With four players remaining, Wang eliminated Chang Yu Lai when Q♥3♦ beat J♣3♣, reducing the field to three.
Wang then moved all-in for 21 big blinds with pocket sevens against Wei's pocket kings. Wang turned a straight to win the all-in.
Po Cheng Lai took the chip lead into heads-up after winning two consecutive pots against Wei. The next two all-ins, however, both went to Wang.
Wang first won with A♣Q♥ against Lai's K♠Q♦ before K♦Q♥ defeated Q♠10♥ on a jack-high board.
The stacks were counted after the second hand, with Wang covering Lai by a single big blind to secure the Titan Stack Daily title.
Takahiro Baba Leads Accumulator Flight A
The NT$3 million guaranteed Accumulator Event also began on opening day, drawing 34 entries for Flight A. Five players finished the flight with chips.
Japan's Takahiro Baba led with 752,000, followed by Singapore's Hsien Paul Wee with 552,000. Ching Hsiang Keng bagged 287,000, Li Ta Hsu finished with 271,000 and Yu Ting Chou advanced with 178,000.
Players who enter another remaining flight and bag chips again add those chips to their existing total and receive an NT$25,000 bonus for each additional successful qualification.
The final day is scheduled for September 24.
Hollink, Hu, Ito and Yen Take Opening-Day Titles
Chiu Hu Yen won Event #2, the 5-Card PL Omaha – Double Board Bomb Pot, after a heads-up deal and received NT$39,860 for first place.
Rob Hollink won the NT$16,500 Midday Mid Stakes for NT$108,000 after defeating Taiwan's Sheng Ju Shih heads-up.
Kia Hung Hu won the Hyper Turbo High Roller and collected the NT$86,400 top prize, while Japan's Kengo Ito topped 24 entries in Event #6 Hyper Turbo for NT$30,320.
In the Titan Stack High Roller, Rudy Edenata and Hong Kong's Chi Shing Man advanced to Day 2, where they will play for shares of the NT$576,000 prize pool and the event trophy.
Day 2 Includes NT$1 Million Guaranteed Titan Stack Daily
Day 2 includes another Titan Stack Daily with an NT$11,000 buy-in and NT$1 million guarantee. Players receive 70,000 starting chips, late registration remains open until 3:15 p.m. local time, and approximately 13.5% of the field will finish in the money.
The schedule also includes Event #9 Big O, the NT$38,500 Single Day High Roller, the NT$5,500 Aphrodite's Event (Women's), the NT$16,500 Mid Stakes Event, the NT$27,500 Turbo High Roller and Flight B of the Accumulator Event.
