Festival Returns to Malta After Nine Years

The European Poker Tour (EPT) returns to Malta for the first time since 2016, running October 1–12 at Casino Malta. Beyond the poker action, PokerStars has organized a wide program of off-the-felt activities designed to make the festival as memorable away from the tables as it is on them. The schedule includes parties, sports competitions, wellness sessions, and a special charity tournament supporting the SiGMA Foundation’s school-building projects in Uganda.

Parties and Celebrations

The festivities begin October 2 at Paranga Beach Club with two welcome parties. The first is an exclusive Silver Pass meet-up, followed by an open event for all players featuring snacks, drinks, and a DJ to set the tone for the week ahead. Other social activities include bowling on October 5, darts on October 8, and laser tag on October 10.

Sports and Games

For those looking to stay active, the Padel Party returns October 4 at IK Padel Village, while Luxol Sport Club will host a football match on October 8. These events offer players a chance to connect and compete in a relaxed setting while experiencing Malta’s sporting culture.

Wellness and Recovery

From October 3–10, the EPT Wellness Community will run daily sessions at the InterContinental Hotel. The program features yoga, running clubs, functional fitness, and breathwork—practices increasingly embraced by professionals who value both mental focus and physical resilience during long tournament series.

€400 Charity Tournament for Uganda

The off-the-felt highlight takes place October 10 at 6 p.m. with the €400 EPT Malta Charity Tournament. For each buy-in and re-entry, €100 will be donated to the SiGMA Foundation, with half of the optional top-up funds also going to the cause. Proceeds will help develop a school in Kasese, Uganda, including classrooms, staff housing, kitchen, and bathroom facilities.

A SiGMA Foundation spokesperson stated: “The support of the team and the players will directly contribute to changing the lives of hundreds of children for the better.” PokerStars’ Cedric Billot added: “Poker players are a global community. Tournaments like this are an important reminder that we have a collective responsibility to support and develop other communities across the world, beyond our own bubble.”

The project will expand education opportunities for children beyond kindergarten while also creating jobs for local builders, contractors, and teachers.

A Complete Festival Experience

With poker at the core and a diverse range of parties, sports, wellness activities, and charitable initiatives, EPT Malta 2025 promises a complete festival experience both on and off the felt.
