Izadi Secures Ninth Circuit Title
Hamid Izadi emerged victorious in the WSOP Circuit Southern Indiana Main Event, overcoming a field of 338 entries to claim the $111,979 top prize. The win marked Izadi’s ninth WSOPC gold ring and denied Maurice Hawkins the chance to extend his record 21-title haul. For Izadi, it was the second-largest payday of his career, adding to more than $2.2 million in lifetime earnings. His biggest score remains his WSOPC Main Event victory in Pompano Beach earlier in 2024.

Tournament Highlights
Izadi began Day 2 in the middle of the pack and reached the final table with the third-largest stack. From there, he built momentum by eliminating Adam Thomas in ninth place, Brent Young in seventh, and Heath Pender in fifth. He later knocked out chip leader Mark Davis in third place, setting up the heads-up duel with Hawkins.
Heads-Up Battle
Maurice Hawkins, already the all-time WSOPC rings leader with 21 victories, entered heads-up play seeking a 22nd title. Facing nearly a 4-to-1 chip deficit, Hawkins made his final stand with king-jack against Izadi’s pocket eights. The board offered no help, securing Izadi the championship and leaving Hawkins to settle for the $74,244 runner-up prize.
