Malcolm Trayner will take the chip lead into Day 8 of the 2026 WSOP Main Event after Day 7 cut the field from 62 players to 21.
The Australian bagged 63,200,000 chips, ahead of Rami Hammoud, who ended the day second with 41,500,000. Lucas Jumalon sits third on 40,800,000 as the remaining players prepare to play down to the final table of nine.
Deeb and Ensan Stay in the Hunt
Several high-profile players remain in contention for the $10 million first prize. Shaun Deeb finished Day 7 sixth in chips with 31,300,000 as he continues his bid to add the Main Event title to his WSOP résumé.
Hossein Ensan also advanced, ending the day seventh with 29,700,000. The 2019 world champion is one day away from a possible return to the Main Event final table.
Day 8 will decide which nine players reach the final table. After that, the finalists are scheduled to return for the Main Event final table from August 3–5.
Zhao Liu Falls in 22nd to End Day 7
The day began with 62 players still seated and ended when Zhao Liu was eliminated in 22nd place for $325,000. His exit left 21 players to bag chips for Day 8.
Other notable eliminations included Ralph Perry in 44th for $215,000 and Tyler Gaston in 37th for $215,000. Patrick Leonard also exited in 32nd place for $265,000.
