Neymar entered a poker event in Las Vegas less than a week after Brazil's World Cup exit. The World Series of Poker announced Saturday that the 34-year-old Santos player had joined its 2026 series.
Santos Faces a Thursday Trip
Brazil's league is set to resume Thursday, when Santos plays away at Botafogo, according to OneFootball. Neymar reportedly had a few additional days off before returning to work.
Six-Max Event Details
WSOP identified Neymar's tournament as the "$10,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6ix-Max" event. The competition is standard Texas Hold'em, and its six-max format limits each table to six players.
Brazil Exit Preceded Las Vegas Entry
The poker entry followed Brazil's surprise Round of 16 loss to Norway by less than a week. Neymar scored his country's only goal on a stoppage-time penalty.
He broke down in tears after the match and announced his retirement from international soccer.
