The Clash of Kings & Queens National Championship at the Golden Nugget saw a volatile outburst when Eric Reinhardt suffered two brutal bad beats against Marvin Rumer, sparking a profanity-laced tirade before his eventual elimination.

The incident occurred during the final event of the Free Poker Network (FPN) Vegas National Championship. With the field narrowed to 43 players and the $25,000 first-place prize in sight, Reinhardt found his tournament life dismantled by two statistical anomalies delivered by the same opponent.

The Breaking Point

Reinhardt’s frustration boiled over a few hours later when he looked down at pocket aces for the second time against Rumer. This time, Rumer held pocket sevens. The chips went into the middle on a flop of 4♣6♦2♠. Reinhardt was a dominant favorite to win the hand, while Rumer needed running cards to survive.

The turn brought the 8♣ to open a gutshot straight draw, and the river fell the 5♦. The miracle runner-runner straight sent the pot to Rumer.

“Same fing guy!” Reinhardt cried. “How the f does this happen EVERY SINGLE TIME?! Every f***ing time.”

First Strike: Flopped Quads

The outburst was fueled by a cooler earlier in the day involving the same two players. Rumer had opened the action with ace-jack and called a 3-bet from Reinhardt, who held pocket aces. The flop came down with three jacks. Rumer flopped quads, leaving Reinhardt drawing dead immediately.

Rumer check-called the flop before getting the rest of his chips in on the turn. Reinhardt initially took that beat in stride, but the second collision proved too much to handle.

Aftermath

Despite the heat of the moment, Reinhardt clarified that his anger was directed at the situation rather than his opponent. He told Rumer, “Not you, man. I just need to breathe.”

Shortly after, the floor came over to break the table. Reinhardt was left with a short stack and was eliminated a brief time later. Rumer remains in the field as players approach the money bubble, with 36 spots paid.
